Thinking about visiting or moving to Mexico?
One of the most appealing aspects of
the Lake Chapala area is the ease with which newcomers can meet people and
become a part of our community. There are a large number of active civic,
charitable and social groups that
make it easy to make new friends who share
your interests.
On top of the list, and certainly the first stop for any first time visitor is The Lake Chapala Society (LCS). 2500 members strong, The Lake Chapala Society is dedicated to the ideals of community service, good fellowship and good relations with local citizens and authority. They maintain a 20,000 volume English library and publish an annual membership directory that most of us find indispensible.
Most importantly, the LCS performs as a one-stop, up to
date Welcome Center and ongoing meeting place with daily seminars, and
discussion groups for short and
long-term visitors.
We have included the link to their Living at Lakeside page here to help
streamline your research in all matters medical, legal, and immigration
related.
The local MLS
- GIL Area Information page also provides a
wealth of concise information.
